Love, Joy, Peace...
Compassion Ministry Circle
The Compassion Ministry Circle focuses on ministries that show concern or care for the experiences of others. Our Ministries of Compassion let others know that they are not alone. Both people within our church family, and those outside our church family, are in need of compassion. Jesus did not show partiality in showing compassion and neither do we. To have compassion is to recognize the needs of other and take action to help.
It's our mission to support the humanitarian works of local non-profits in our community through sponsorship of fundraising events where 100% of the proceeds of the event go to the non-profit. We focus on organizations whose mission is to support women, families and the vulnerable in our society. Over the years, we’ve raised almost $100,000 to various non-profits.

Recent recipients: Common Roots, United Way of Northwest VT, Pathways Vermont, Planned Parenthood of Northern New England, Machia Wilderness Camp, South Burlington Food Shelf, Alzheimer’s Association of VT, Sleep in Heavenly Peace, Steps to End Domestic Violence, Department of Children & Families, 802 Fund (flood victim relief), Joint Urban Ministry Project (JUMP), and Feeding Champlain Valley.

Join Urban Ministries Project - Founded in 1988 by five downtown Burlington faith communities and now receiving key support (funds, volunteers and material donations) from more than 20 area faith communities, JUMP has long been a resource for our economically disadvantaged neighbors in search of basic human needs and opportunities to increase self-sufficiency and quality of life.
  • Faith UMC supports JUMP with donations of tooth brushes, tooth paste, and razors for our neighbors in need.
Tree of Warmth - During December we decorate a tree with homemade and store-bought items of warmth which are donated to local groups.
  • Are you a knitter? Donate some of your creations to our tree during the month of December.
  • Not a crafter? We take purchased donations such as hats, gloves, scarves, socks, long johns, shirts and coats.
  • Our Knitting Group supplements these donations and you can join this group to help all year long!
